10,000+ British Children Stolen, sent to Australia & Exploited by the Catholic Church

CBS did a remarkable documentary in 2002 entitled Lost Children to illustrate how
the Catholic Church and the Church of England had not only exploited and abused these 10,000 British Children, but had actually conned the kids for 50 years.

Britain, after World War II, "burdened" by overflowing children's homes, came up with a plan in collaboration with churches and charities. Most children were illegitimate, dropped off by single mothers. The children were told they'd be taken to Australia a place where they'd be adopted by a loving family. Tony Jones, who at the time was in a boys' home in Malvern, England, was told that he was now an orphan. That's what they told all the kids. That there wasn't anyone for them, they were orphans.

10,000 kids, as young as 3 and not older than 15 were sent to Australia. Once they arrived in this unknown country, to these children, they were separated from siblings and dispersed to different institutions throughout Australia. The State and Catholic's plan was to exploit them. Some went to Institutions where they worked all day long. Never had any education. Most were raped and beaten by the priests who ran these institutions.

Only 5 of the 10,000 children shipped to Australia were adopted. In 1967, the shipments stopped abrutptly because Britain had run out of children.

$2.5 million was paid to 250 of the child migrants that were abused in the Christian Brothers institutes. Most children sexually abused were boys, but both girls and boys were exploited as free labor and beaten.

As adults, they came to discover that they didn't have documents. Few had birth certificates. To make things worse, they learned they were not orphans. They had family in England, who had never given permission to send their children overseas. Parents would go back to take their children home and be told that their child had been placed in a loving home and they wouldn't disturb that.
